How to build a custom app with AI

The definitive guide to transitioning from manual coding to AI-assisted software generation. Learn how to prompt, edit, and launch enterprise-grade apps in record time.

Building software used to require months of planning, wireframing, frontend development, backend structuring, and database management. Today, an AI app builder like Molbik AI compresses that entire lifecycle into a few focused steps.

Core Philosophy: You no longer write code; you manage logic. Your job is to describe the business rules accurately, and the AI's job is to write the syntax.

Step 1: Write a Structural Prompt

The most common mistake when building apps with AI is writing vague prompts like "Build an ecommerce store." AI engines need structural boundaries. A good prompt defines three things: Actors (Users), Data (Records), and Actions (Workflows).

Excellent Prompt Example"Build a project management dashboard. Include two roles: Manager and Employee. Managers can create Tasks (Title, Deadline, Status, Assigned To). Employees can view their assigned tasks and change the Status to 'Done'. Include a Kanban board view and a list view."

Step 2: The Visual Iteration Loop

Once the AI generates the initial prototype, you don't need to dive into the codebase to make changes. Molbik AI provides a Visual Editor overlay.

  • UI Tweaks: Click on any button or container and type "Make this corner rounded" or "Change brand color to deep blue."
  • Data Changes: Select a data table and prompt "Add a new column for Customer Email." The AI automatically updates the frontend table and the backend database schema.

Step 3: Database & Security Configuration

A real application is useless without secure data storage. Molbik AI automatically provisions an isolated SQL database for your project. Before going live, ensure you visit the Security Settings tab to:

  • Define Row-Level Security (e.g., Employees can only see their own records).
  • Set up API keys if you plan to connect external services like Stripe or HubSpot.

Step 4: Launching to a Custom Domain

Deployment is fully automated. By navigating to the Deployments tab, you can map your GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Route53 domain. The Molbik Engine automatically provisions SSL certificates and distributes your application across global edge networks for maximum speed.

Understanding the Costs (1 INR = 1 Credit)

Unlike traditional agencies that charge thousands of dollars upfront, Molbik AI operates on a pay-as-you-go wallet system.

  • Generation: Generating your initial app deducts compute credits (usually ~80-150 credits).
  • Hosting: Live production hosting costs a flat monthly credit deduction.
  • Transparency: 1 INR equals 1 Compute Credit. You can top up your wallet at any time, and credits have lifetime validity.
